Seniors in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows took part in a High Tea and Strawberry Tea to celebrate B.C. Seniors Week.
At the Maple Ridge Public Library, more than 60 seniors enjoyed a High Tea and a special performance by the Silvertones Choir.
And another 60 plus seniors in Pitt Meadows enjoyed the annual Strawberry Tea. Guests enjoyed not only the tea, but also live entertainment, dancing, a 50/50, and strawberry shortcake was also served.
"The whole place was buzzing with happy faces, live music and dancing," read a post by the Ridge Meadows Seniors Society,
"A huge thank you to everyone who came out to the Pitt Meadows Seniors Activity Centre to share some delicious strawberry shortcake and even better company. It's traditions like these that fill our hearts," said the post
Seniors Week was started in October 2002 to celebrate seniors and their contributions to communities across the province, and has been taking place the first week of June ever since.
This year Seniors Week ran from June 1-7.
