Maple Ridge Rebels collect food for good cause

The Rebels For A Cause group at Garibaldi Secondary School held three fundraisers/food drives for charities in the community

A group at Garibaldi Secondary in Maple Ridge have been working hard to raise money and non-perishables to help those in need in the community. 

The Rebels For A Cause group along with their mentor teacher, Carlos Silva, held three campaigns to support the Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows Christmas Hamper Society, the Friends In Need Food Bank, and Alisa's Wish. 

For the Winter Food Hamper campaign the group raised $1,729 for the Christmas hamper society and collected 559 non-perishable food items for the food bank. 

The Garibaldi Scares Hunger campaign brought in a total of 738 non-perishable food items for the food bank.

Finally, through their Winter-Friendship Candy Grams campaign, they managed to raise $121 to donate to Alisa's Wish.

As you can see, students raised a nice chuck of money for the Christmas Hamper Society, 738 non-perishable items for the Friends In Need Food plus $121 for Alisa’s Wish.

The Grade 8 students were given credit for raising the most donations at the school.
