The Emerald Pig Theatrical Society is holding auditions for their upcoming production 'Sugar Road'.
'Sugar Road' is a romantic comedy about Hannah Taylor, who runs Sugar Road amusement park in Elmvale, Ontario, and Jesse Emberley a world famous musician.
Jesse met Hannah 12 years ago after a chance encounter that led to a night beneath the stars.
But, as he rose to fame, the couple became separated.
Now, Jesse is coming back to the town to perform at the Spurs and Hearts Music Festival and Hannah's pushy, but well-meaning friends, are trying to make sure they confront the reasons why the separated, since neither of them have really moved on.
Director Angela Bell is looking for a cast of four to play:
• Hannah Taylor who is in her mid 30's and the owner of Sugar Road Amusement Park;
• Jesse Emberley who is in his late 30's and is a country singer, so those auditioning must be able to play the guitar and sing;
• Caroline Dawn who is in her early-mid 40's and is a local who lives on her family farm;
• and Ray Bishop, who is in his early 50's and is a former roadie who now works at Sugar Road.
Written by Canadian playwright Kristen Da Dilva, 'Sugar Road' is described a filled with laughter, romance, and music.
Open call auditions will be taking place Saturday, Jan. 25 at 1 p.m. and at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 28, at Heritage Hall in Pitt Meadows, 12460 Harris Road.
In order to audition, all cast must be available during the production run dates from May 1-3, at Heritage Hall in Pitt Meadows, and from May 8-11 at the Albion Community Centre in Maple Ridge. They must be available for the tech and dress rehearsals on April 27, 30, and on May 7.
And for the Theatre BC Fraser Valley Zone Festival during which the performance will take place on May 22 in Tsawwassen, which will mean availability for the full day and then at the Coffee Critique at around 5 p.m. the following day, May 23.
Then, if the production is successful at the festival, cast must also make themselves available for additional rehearsals and for one more performance in July for Mainstage taking place in Fort St. John.
Auditions will be first-come, first-served and will consist of reading sides from the script.

The first read-through will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 30 and rehearsals will primarily be on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons.
Not all actors will be needed for every rehearsal.
