The Peacenik Collective just released their first single 'Back to Love'.

A "supergroup" made up of musicians from the West Coast, including some from Maple Ridge, have released a new single.

'Back To Love' is the very first single of the Peacenik Collective – a song that is meant to invoke the spirit of music during the peace movement of the 1960s and 70s.

The song asks a lot of questions, most notably about losing sight of our beliefs.

"While the vibe of the song may seem nostalgic, the lyrics speak from a contemporary perspective," reads the band's website.

Peacenik Collective is made up of six artists who have been performing for decades across the province and beyond:

• Maple Ridge's Bruce Coughlan, who is not only well known for his successful solo career, but as a member of the bands: Bare Facts; The Hightops; and Tiller's Folly. He also just won the International Male Vocalist of the Year at the ISSA Award;

• Gord Maxwell who has been inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame as a member of the band Chilliwack and the BC Country Music Hall of Fame with the band One Horse Blue and who is one of three Gords in the band The Gords;

• Marc Gladstone from Doug & the Slugs, Abandon Paris, Stone Poets, and Prism, who has been inducted into the Canadian Walk of Fame with the band Prism;

• Cherelle Jardine of The Jardines and Stone Poets, who is also an Ethel Tibbits recipient;

• Scott Jackson from the bands Abandon Paris and Stone Poets, who garnered extensive radio play for his solo albums 'My World' and 'Distractions';

* and Greg Stuart, who has toured with iconic performers including Frank Mills and Bo Diddley.

They are on a quest to spread a message of unity and community through their music.

'Back To Love' is composed by Maxwell and David Pavane.
