Miss Pitt Meadows to be crowned

Ciara Henderson will have the honour of being crowned Miss Pitt Meadows for the 76th annual Pitt Meadows Day celebration, Saturday.

Contributed Ciara Henderson, a Grade 6 student at Pitt Meadows elementary, is this years Miss Pitt Meadows.

Ciara Henderson will have the honour of being crowned Miss Pitt Meadows for the 76th annual Pitt Meadows Day celebration, Saturday.

Miss Pitt Meadows and members of the Royal Party are selected from qualifying students who have lived in Pitt Meadows for at least two years.

Audrey Dougan, Miss Pitt Meadows for 2016, will be passing the crown during the ceremonies, starting at 1 p.m.

Bagpiper Sandy Marshall will be leading the Royal parade onto the stage at Harris Road Park.

The Royal Party consists of 10 flower girls, from grades 1 to 3, two flag bearers of Grade 4 boys, one Grade 5 girl medallion bearer, one Grade 5 girl record bearer, Miss Pitt Meadows and her three attendants, all Grade 6 girls, and the retiring Miss Pitt Meadows and her attendants:

• Miss Pitt Meadows 2017 – Ciara Henderson;

• 1st attendant – Elizabeth Florence;

• 2nd attendant – Sarah Gillis;

• 3rd attendant – Sadi Burgess;

• record bearer – Jaida Ellis;

• medallion bearer – Neela Cheema;

• flower girls – Ella Leggett, Zoë Thomas, Kiyana Gatto, Ariya Aujla, Addison Semple, Ashlyn Hood, Sydney Ferguson, Emily Richmond, Kaitlyn Bice and Lilly Beedle;

• flag bearers – Kadence Birth and Peter Hakim.
