A total of 220 people participated in the event, nearly matching pre-pandemic levels, according to ALS Society of British Columbia executive director Wendy Toyer.

“The Move to Cure ALS Tri-Cities/Ridge Meadows was a great success,” said Toyer.

A total of $21,179 has been raised so far, greatly surpassing the society’s fundraising goal of $14,000.

The top fundraising group for the Pitt Meadows event was Team Forrest, which managed to collect more than $8,000 to support ALS treatments.

This money will go toward creating a world-class ALS Centre at UBC, with 60 per cent of the proceeds being used for patient services programs and the remaining 40 per cent dedicated to ALS research.
