Entrepreneurship and marketing students from Maple Ridge secondary came first at Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s Innovation Challenge.

More than 40 schools took part this past weekend, according to Lance Kraus, marketing and promotions teacher at MRSS.

The final challenge was one of innovation, then marketing that.

The MRSS team chose to work on a conductive blanket, primarily for underdeveloped countries, that stores and builds energy for night time.

Members of the MRSS team included Risham Johar, Damoun Roshenas, Patrick Jestal, Brendan Choo and Ginevra Franchi.

They each received $1,000 for post-secondary studies.
