A new person will be taking the helm of the Seniors Network Society of Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows.
Christina Shearme has been chosen as the network’s new coordinator, succeeding Heather Treleaven who left to become the new executive director of the BC Association of Community Response Networks at the end of March.
Shearme, is described by the Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows, and Katzie, Seniors Network’s board of directors as a seasoned professional with more than 18 years of dedicated service to communities, who is expected to build on Treleaven’s "remarkable legacy and continue to drive the organization’s mission forward."
She brings with her a wealth of experience, knowledge and a deep commitment to community service, said the board, coupled with a commitment to being responsive to the needs of the senior’s community.
"This drive and purpose will carry forward the Seniors Network’s outstanding work," said the board.
“I am thrilled to step into this role and continue the vital work that Heather has championed,” said Shearme.
“Her contributions have set a high standard, and I am eager to build upon the solid foundation she has established. Together with our dedicated team, I look forward to advancing our initiatives and enhancing the well-being of our seniors community,” she added.
The board thanked Treleaven, who they said was instrumental in the network's growth and success,.
"Her visionary leadership has significantly impacted the lives of countless seniors," said the board.
The Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows and Katzie, Seniors Network is a registered society led by seniors for seniors.
Formed in 2008, the members work collaboratively with the community to identify program and service gaps and to develop initiatives and programs to improve the health and well-being of older adults in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows.
