Chris Johnston, who lives on Olund Crescent in Maple Ridge, celebrates July 1 by flying the Canadian flag atop a 50-foot pole he erected earlier this year. The flag is 9x18 feet in size. Johnston and his neighbors were planning a gathering in the late afternoon for burgers and hot dogs in front of his flag.
