A unique fundraising event is taking place in Maple Ridge to bring joy to seniors in the community.
'Bring Your Human to Maple Ridge Florist' is a photo opportunity for people and their pets to raise money for Bouquets for Baba, a community initiative that delivers floral arrangements to seniors who may be lonely and living in assisted living, long-term, and hospice care.
For a minimum contribution of $60, participants will receive a professional 10-minute photo shoot with their pets, set against a stunning floral backdrop curated by Maple Ridge Florist.
“Bouquets for Baba is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for seniors in care by providing a beautiful gestures that offers comfort and connection,” said Amy Pridday, communications and marketing volunteer for the charity.
"With this event, we hope to offer a meaningful way for people to capture special moments with their pets while also contributing to a cause that helps brighten the lives of seniors in our community.”
Local photographers and volunteers have donated their time to run this event, so that all contributions will go directly towards creating and delivering floral arrangements.
The event runs: Sunday, Oct. 20; Sunday, Oct. 27; and Sunday, Nov. 3.
Photo sessions will be held between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. and between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. at Maple Ridge Florist, 22530 Dewdney Trunk Rd., Maple Ridge.
