This past weekend, more than 5,000 people visited Memorial Peace Park to participate in the various holiday activities that made up the annual Winter Fest celebration, explained city senior manager of corporate communications Pardeep Purewal.
“We want to thank our amazing volunteers, staff, and our partners – Maple Ridge Christmas Festival Society, the ACT Arts Centre, and Downtown Maple Ridge Business Improvement Association – who made this event a huge success and extra magical,” said Purewal
“A special shoutout to our operations team for designing and building our new city float that made its debut in this year’s parade.”

In addition to a new City of Maple Ridge float, a few other changes were also introduced to Winter Fest this year, including a photo booth with the Grinch and a horse-drawn sleigh with Santa to end the Santa Claus Parade.
The city is currently gathering feedback on the Winter Fest celebration, which can be submitted to culture@mapleridge.ca.
In the next weeks, the city will continue to offer a variety of holiday festivities, including the Candy Cane Tour in downtown Maple Ridge.
