An information session on end of life planning will be taking place in Maple Ridge.
The Giving Matters luncheon series will go through wills and estates, Power of Attorney, representation agreements, and how to plan a funeral and have your wishes honoured.
Experts Sherri Robinson from Centra Lawyers and Nathan Logue from Garden Hill Funeral Home will be hosting the presentation.
Robinson was called to the BC Bar in 2005 and she specializes in preparing estate planning documents – including the creation of Wills, inter-vivos, and testamentary trusts, and regularly helps accountants, financial planners, trust officers and other lawyers with their clients’ estate planning needs.
She also assists with Powers of Attorney, representation agreements, and committeeship applications which are necessary if someone becomes incapable of managing their financial affairs.
Logue is a funeral director and embalmer and has been working with his family, at Garden Hill, since 2002. He had a lot of knowledge about the trends in funeral service and how to guide people through the early days of losing a loved one.
A complimentary lunch will also be offered.
The presentation is sponsored by: the Maple Ridge Community Foundation; Pitt Meadows Community Foundation; Ridge Meadows Education Foundation; and Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation.
To secure a spot it is recommended those interested in attending RSVP by Saturday, Oct. 12, by emailing RMEFinfo@gmail.com.
The event takes place from noon until 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 29, at the Maple Ridge Seniors Activity Centre, 12150 224 St., Maple Ridge.
