Queer as Funk returns for Pitt Meadows Pride concert

Popular band will be joined by Rainbow Chorus of New Westminster

This Thursday, June 19, the City of Pitt Meadows will host a Pride concert, bringing back the Vancouver band Queer as Funk, who have shown a talent for getting everyone up and dancing.

The event will take place at 6:30 p.m. in Spirit Square, and will also feature the Rainbow Chorus of New Westminster.

Queer as Funk is one of the few predominantly queer and non-binary bands in the province, and their shows are a statement of pride and identity. They were at the first-ever Pride celebration in Pitt Meadows, held in 2022.

The Rainbow Chorus is a non-auditioned community choir that brings together members of the LGBTQ community to share in the joy of singing.

This is a free concert to celebrate Pride, and recognize LGBTQ contributions in the community.

Pride celebrations take place through the year in B.C. communities, with many concentrated in the summer months. There is a full list of pride organizations and festivals at whatsonqueerbc.com
