Record for Coldest Night walk

The Coldest Night of the Year event in Maple Ridge took place in February.

The Salvation Army Ridge Meadows Ministries raised $17,200 during its annual Coldest Night of the Year fundraising walk.

The event took place at the end of last month in downtown Maple Ridge.

“Together our two communities of Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows raised over $17,200 for vulnerable individuals and families living in our cities,” said Amelia Norrie, with the Salvation Army.

“Way to go.”

The walk had 77 registered participants this year, its fifth, and raised a record amount.

The top team, Ministry on a Mission, raised $4,000.

Next year’s walk is scheduled for Feb. 24.
