The Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation, which raises funds to purchase new equipment and support programs at the local facility, is running a 50/50 Fortune Winter Raffle, with tickets now on sale.
"From prevention, to diagnosis, to treatment – every ticket purchased will go towards essential equipment and other high-priority health care needs at our hospital and in our community," said the foundation.
This year, the foundation has committed to raise approximately $1 million toward equipment and other high-priority health care needs at the hospital.
Foundation spokesperson Deanna Lackey said the 50-50 draws have been popular, so her group has opted to do two in one year for the first time.
"As soon as we finished the first one, we had people coming in to ask 'When are you doing it again?' she noted. "We're testing the waters, to see the uptake."
Ticket sales for the latest fundraiser started on Monday, and the jackpot is already nearing $3,000. The draw winner gets half of the jackpot, and recent jackpots have been over $20,000.
A single ticket is $10, a three-pack is $25, an eight-pack is $50, and a 20-pack costs $100. There will be 18,050 tickets available for sale.
Tickets can be purchased in person at the RMH Foundation office, by calling the office at 604-463-1822, or online at rmhfoundation.rafflenexus.com
The deadline to buy is Sunday, Feb. 16 at 11:59 p.m., and the draw date will be Friday, Feb. 21 at 2 p.m.
