What makes objects float in nature.

That is the topic of the next River Basin Days, being held in Maple Ridge.

River Basin Days is a monthly series of outdoor family programs that takes place on the second Saturday of every month, at different locations along the Fraser River Basin.

Participants will get to take part in various activities, experiments, and art projects as they learn about the biodiversity of the river.

This workshop, in particular, will look at they kinds of objects that float, as participants scavenge for building materials and learn about a few simple boat-making techniques.

Then, they will help the “nature boats” set sail on their inaugural voyage, said Stephen Bruyneel, FRDC Director of External Relations and Development.

“And there is no better place to do that than in beautiful Jerry Sulina Park in Maple Ridge,” he added.
