Science World on the Road comes to Maple Ridge Library

Children take part in experiments about forces and motion

Science World is taking its show on the road during spring break, and stopped in Maple Ridge on Thursday, March 20.

An audience of more than 100 children and their guardians packed the Maple Ridge Public Library's Children's area, to watch the scientific experiments – like blasting a leaf blower at a freely-spinning roll of toiler paper.

It was all about forces and motion, with kids learning about gravity, momentum, friction and lift, and the science involved in falling, spinning and flying.

The presentation has been to libraries across the region, but will still take their show to the City of Langley Library on March 22 at 11 a.m., and to the Mission Library at 2 p.m.
