The Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows School District will be hosting three upcoming parent information nights on a variety of programs.
A Learning Services Grade 7 parent information night is being held at 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 27.
The session, which will be taking place online will provide information about how to support a successful transition to high school for Grade 7 students with diverse needs – who have an individual education plan (IEP) and ministry designation.
Preregistration is required to join the session which will be held on Zoom.
The session is going to be an hour long and will not be recorded.

Following the session, supplementary materials may be available from each child’s support teacher.

An information night on the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program is also coming up.
Program entry is in Grade 11 and the school district is encouraging interested students in grades 9 and 10 to attend.
The session takes place at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 29, in the school library at Garibaldi Secondary School at 24789 Dewdney Trunk Rd, Maple Ridge.
Then there is a Late French Immersion information night coming up at Golden Ears Elementary.
Information is aimed at Grade 5 students who are interested in entering the Late French Immersion program, and their families.
The SD42 has described the Late French Immersion program as an excellent opportunity for students who want to learn French as another language and are looking for a challenge.
In the program, students learn French while learning all subject areas of the curriculum.
Students who are currently in Grade 5 are eligible to begin Late French Immersion in September 2025 at Golden Ears Elementary.
It is a two-year elementary program which continues at Maple Ridge Secondary School until Grade 12, when students can graduate with a dual Dogwood.
Registration for this district program opens on the Parent Portal at noon on Feb. 12, and closes at 11:59 p.m. on Feb. 19.

Late French Information Night takes place at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 4, at Golden Ears Elementary, 23124 118 Avenue, Maple Ridge.
