String quartet from New York to perform in Maple Ridge in new year

The Maple Ridge Music Society will be welcoming the Isidore String Quartet

A New York-based string quartet will be kicking off the new year at Westacres in Maple Ridge. 

The Isidore String Quartet – made up of violinists Adrian Steele and Phoenix Avalon, violist Devin Moore, and cellist Joshua McClendon – will be performing a program consisting of French composer Maurice Ravel, current American composer and jazz pianist Billy Childs, and German composer Ludwig van Beethoven. 

The quartet was the winner of the famous Banff String Quartet competition in 2022 and are now invited to perform all over the continent. 

They began as an ensemble at the Juilliard School, and following a break during the global pandemic, reconvened at the Kneisel Hall Chamber Music Festival in the summer of 2021 under the tutelage of Joel Krosnick. 

Westacres is the home of The Maple Ridge Music Society and concerts take place in the chamber-style music room on a 20-acre farm. 

Concert have been taking place here for more than four decades. 

The group will be performing at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 5, at 23575 124 Avenue, Maple Ridge.

A limited amount of seats is still available.
