The Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows Board of Education is considering continuing with its district-wide school calendar for 2012/13, and wants public input before trustees make a decision.
The proposed district school calendar will include a two-week spring break, extending from Monday, March 18, 2013 to Thursday, March 28, 2013, followed by the Easter holiday (Good Friday and Easter Monday). The two additional days off are proposed for Friday, November 9, 2012 and on January 25, 2013.
The altered school calendar was introduced this school year as a cost-saving measure and is expected to save the school district close to $200,000.
