Peacenik Collective is holding a 'Back to Love Peace Party' on Sunday, April 27, in Surrey.

A six-member super group spreading a message of unity and community will be holding a peace party.

Peacenik Collective, made up of musicians from the West Coast, including Maple Ridge, will be producing a live music series called 'Back to Love', fashioned after 1970s variety shows.

They will be filming and streaming the first episode live on Sunday, April 27, at Hubcast Media's Campus Studio in Port Kells.

Peacenik Collective is made up of:

• Bruce Coughlan (Bare Facts, The Hightops, Tiller’s Folly), who just won International Male Vocalist of the Year  at the ISSA Awards;

• Gord Maxwell (One Horse Blue, Ian Tyson, The Gords, Chilliwack), who has been inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame with the band Chilliwack, and the BC Country Music Hall of Fame with the band One Horse Blue;

• Marc Gladstone (Doug & the Slugs, Abandon Paris, Stone Poets, Prism) who has been inducted into the Canadian Walk of Fame with the band Prism);

• Cherelle Jardine (The Jardines, Stone Poets), who is an Ethel Tibbits recipient;

• Scott Jackson (Abandon Paris, Stone Poets), who garnered extensive radio play for his solo albums 'My World' and 'Distractions';

• and Greg Stuart, who has toured with iconic performers like Frank Mills and Bo Diddley.

According to the website, the goal of the band it to, “start a peace and love movement using their music as motivation.”

'Back to Love' is the name of the group's very first single, composed by Maxwell and David Pavane, which, the group says is a song that evokes the spirit of music during the peace movement of the 1960s and 70s, when artists expressed ideals of equality, of dignity and respect for all.

The song, asks a lot of questions, and reflects on losing sight of what we believe in.

"While the vibe of the song may seem nostalgic, the lyrics speak from a contemporary perspective," said the group online.

The 'Back to Love Peace Party' featuring Peacenik Collective and guests takes place at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 27, at 8240 188th St. in Surrey.

Doors open at 5:30 pm.

Tickets are available for both the in-person and streaming event. It is $30 plus service fees for the live event, and $10 plus service fees to watch the live stream.
