A new Thursday evening piano bar is starting up at the ACT Arts Centre in Maple Ridge.
Once Thursday per month, musician Kerry O'Donovan, will be leading the free evening of music with an extensive playlist including classics from the 1920's all the way to the present time.
O'Donovan, who has more than 25 years of experience performing for audiences of all generations and styles, will be playing favourite hits, welcoming song requests from the audience, and inviting people to sing along. He is trained in both classical and jazz piano, and his repertoire spans from 1920s Ragtime, the Great American Songbook of the '40s and '50s, to early Rock and roll, iconic singer-songwriters of the '60s and '70s, pop hits from the '80s and '90s, music of today, in addition to musical theatre classics from every era.
All Piano Bars will take place from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Thursday evenings on Oct. 10, Nov. 14, Jan. 9, Feb. 6, April 10, and May 1.
Table seating is on a first come-first served basis, but those interested can drop in anytime the piano bar is on.
Tips for the pianist is encouraged to keep the piano bar going.
Hand-crafted specialty cocktails, fine wines, and premium spirits will be available for purchase.
