Volunteers still needed for 2012 B.C. Summer Games

While local competitors are preparing for the 2012 B.C. Senior Games in Burnaby Aug. 21 to 25, games organizers are still looking for for a few good men and women to make sure the event runs smoothly.

The 2012 Burnaby B.C. Seniors Games will require close to volunteers to participate in a wide variety of positions; everything from administration positions, to photographers, to sporting event coordinators.

More than 4,000 seniors will be participating 26 different disciplines in this year’s event, which marks the 25th anniversary of the B.C. Senior Games.

The 2012 B.C. Senior Games features events in archery, Badminton, bocce, bridge, carpet bowling, cribbage, cycling, darts, dragon boat racing, five-pin bowling, floor curling, golf, horseshoes, ice curling, hockey, lawn bowling, one-act plays, pickleball, slo-pitch, snooker, soccer, swimming, table tennis, tennis, track and field, and whist.
