Nine lucky winners were drawn for the Downtown Maple Ridge Business Improvement Association’s Win Your Wish contest Tuesday morning.

The contest is in its ninth year and featured nine different prize packages worth about $2,000 each, donated by downtown Maple Ridge businesses.

Gift cards worth $100 in total were given to each of the 10 runners up.

It’s all about shopping local, said Flori Chaykowski, executive director of the local BIA.

There were $8,000 worth of prizes when the contest first started. This year there were $19,000 in prizes to be won.

More than 7,123 receipts were collected during the contest that took place Nov. 26 to Dec. 31, including 350 that were submitted online.

“But the winner would still have to have their actual receipt in order to claim their prize,” said Chaykowski.
