Winners have been announced for the Downtown Maple Ridge Business Improvement Association’s 10th annual Spring Treasure Hunt.
The contest took place from Mar. 9 to Mar. 25 where people had to pick up a passport and hunt for hidden eggs at participating business throughout downtown area. Once the participant collected 25 stamps on their passport they could enter it into the competition.
Thirty businesses participated in the event and 300 fully completed passports were entered into the draw to win one of five Easter prize baskets.
More than 450 people paid a visit to the Maple Ridge Library that has been a participant for the last four years.
“The Spring Treasure Hunt is a great way to introduce families in Maple Ridge to our vibrant local businesses. Many commented they discovered businesses they didn’t know existed, which is exactly what we want to hear,” said Dipti Chavan with the DTMRBIA.
Sherilyn George loved the competition.
”My four year old had so much fun just going to seven of the stores today. Mommy was able to actually look around in all these amazing stores. Tomorrow will be fun going to many more,” she posted online.
Winners of the baskets were Kennedy, 2, Liam, 4, Eva, 6, Carolina, 8, and Grace, 10.
Until April 15, the DTMRBIA is asking people to vote for their favourite downtown Maple Ridge business in 32 different categories including automotive, electronic, dental services, books and entertainment, fitness centre, grocery or convenience store, among others.
Participants can win one of three downtown Maple Ridge gift certificates to be used at any business in the BIA area.
Post and share on your Facebook page and you will have an additional chance to win.
The poll takes five minutes to complete and the top three businesses in each category will be announced prior to the DTMRBIA’s annual general meeting on May 7.
At the AGM the winner in each category will be presented with a personalized award.
