Harpoonist and Axe Murder

The Vancouver-based, Juno-award-nominated duo The Harpoonist and the Axe Murderer will be bringing its  blues act back to Maple Ridge.

Shawn Hall, the harpoonist, and Matthew Rogers, the axe murderer, will be infusing a jolt of renewed energy into the raw and primal blues, delivering a sound described as “greasy, gritty blues and soul, and punched with a hit of rock and funk.”

Hall is armed with booming vocals and an arsenal of harmonicas and Rogers with a mess of foot percussion and a road-worn Telecaster.

The Harpoonist and the Axe Murderer takes place at 8 p.m. on Jan. 28 at The ACT Arts Centre, 11944 Haney Place in Maple Ridge.

• Tickets are $38 for adults and seniors and $15 for youth. To purchase call 604-476-2787 or go to www.theactmapleridge.org.
