In Theatres: Will Smith, Margot Robbie star in throwback caper 'Focus'

Smith and Robbie teams up as co-thieves and co-lovers (maybe) in Focus. Also now playing: The Lazarus Effect, documentary Monsoon.

Will Smith stars in 'Focus' with Margot Robbie. The movie's a mid-2000s style con film

In theatres this weekend...

  • Will Smith and Margot Robbie team up as con-men/women and lovers (maybe?) in the film Focus. It's Robbie's first major theatrical appearance since 2013's The Wolf of Wall Street, when she rose to stardom and the top of every 16-year-old boy's IMDB searches. Smith has starred in a few movies – among them, Shark Tale and Men in Black III.
  • Olivia Wilde and Mark Duplass play scientists who bring animals – and eventually humans – back from the dead in The Lazarus Effect. And since it's a horror film, we'll assume it has disastrous consequences.
  • The documentary Monsoon was an official selection at Toronto's 2014 Film Festival. No jokes here, it looks good. And important.
