Plenty of filming in Maple Ridge

Hollywood shooting four productions as film sector keeps busy

Maple Ridge continues to be a favourite location for film, with four productions shooting here at the moment.

• Primeval–New World – A new TV series based on the popular British program. It has set up shop at E-One Moli Energy and will be based there until August, as well as shooting at various locations in Maple Ridge and throughout the Lower Mainland. The series can be viewed on the Space channel.

• Killer Among Us – A feature film starring Tom Cavanagh. There is lots of shoot ’em up action in this film. Film locations include Iron Mountain Store, Haney Builders Supply, Hammond Church, and the old mill beside Kingfishers Pub.

• Tom, Dick and Harriet – Just completed filming at Paliotti’s, Lava Dining and Lounge, and the old Roger’s Video building. Starring Steven Webber (Wings), it is a TV movie about an advertising executive trying to keep up with the times.

• Love at the Thanksgiving Day Parade – A feature film was just shot at the ACT, Memorial Peace Park, Langley Farm Market, Jim’s Pizza and Sweet Orange Clothing store. It starred Autumn Reeser (Entourage) and was literally about a couple falling in love at the Thanksgiving Day Parade.
