Ridge Meadows Quilters Guild is inviting the public to its quilt sale titled “Quilt Stories... Every Quilt Has One” this weekend..

The event will be held on Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Burnett Fellowship Church 20639 123rd Ave.

With over 150 entries The Ridge Meadows Quilters will showcase  beautiful traditional bed quilts and innovative  wall quilts. They will also host a quilt display by The Fraser Valley Modern Guild, and have a travelling show on the theme “From Away” by fibre artists living in Western Canada.

Ridge Meadows Quilters Guild has 73 members who meet on  the second Tuesday of the month at St. George Anglican Church on Dewdney Trunk Road in 7 p.m. It is a non-profit group of fibre enthusiasts who as part of our program make quilts to donate to the  community, some which will be on display at the quilt show.

As well, each year a quilt is made to be raffled, with the funds donated to a local charity. Normally, the draw occurs at the Maple Ridge Fall Fair, but this year the draw will be on Saturday at the close of the quilt show.

The charity chosen this year is Ridge Meadows Search and Rescue to receive the proceeds of the raffle. Tickets will be available at the show.

With an admission ticket of $5 patrons will be automatically entered into the draw for a door prize quilt made and donated by club member Josie Rankin and also numerous gift baskets.

Judy Greenwood is the  feature Quilter. She will share her many quilts ranging from a striking colourful traditional appliqué quilt titled “Affairs of The Heart,” to her painted and stitched wall quilt called Lucy – an adorable Basset Hound.

“Lucy” was a winner at the 2012 Houston Quilt Show.
