Maple Ridge twins Alanna and Brianne Finn-Morris took first place in the youth category at this year’s Ridge Meadows Got Talent Show, held at Country Fest this past weekend.
A total of 16 youth and adult acts, ranging from a contortionist performance to a Christian rock band, graced the main stage.
The Finn-Morris sisters, 16, have already performed throughout the Lower Mainland and in several venues in Nashville, and recently recorded their first EP in Los Angeles with their producer, Steve Dorff.
Although the pair is currently unsigned, RMGT 2014 event coordinator Peggy Stolz says she is certain that will change soon.
“They are definitely a group to keep your eyes open for in the future and definitely a group to revisit next year at Country Fest when they will be invited back for the RMGT pre-show and to assist us with opening the youth portion of next year’s show,” says Stolz.
Second and third place youth winners were singers Nhemy, age 14 and Arianna Abegayle, age 11. Honorable mention for this age group went to Cambree Lovesy, age 15.
First place winners for the adult category was the Christian rock group the Luca Di Prata Band.
“Luca has been playing music for the glory of God since a very young age, and at age 12, picked up his first pair of drum sticks and began drumming for the band Lost in the Son,” says Stolz. “Again, I know that we will be hearing more from Luca and his band members Aidan Pauls, Perren Gemmell and Mark Di Prata.”
The band Forgotten Revolver took second place in the adult category and third-place winners were Zigante and Haskel.
All of the participants were presented with thank you gifts from the show creators and host NorthRidge Foursquare Church.
