In loving memory ~
It is SO hard to believe it has been a year since John has passed. John was in the loving arms of his wife of 67 years, Carol, when he was welcomed into the presence of his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. John was also surrounded by his son, Robert and daughters Cheryl and Terry.
John was born in Walkerville, Ontario. After finishing high school in Red Deer, Alberta, John joined the Air Force and became a navigator and retired as a Captain after 25 years. John moved on to become a computer programmer/manager at CLEU ( currently known as CSIS) for the next 10 years. John was a man of many talents, he could build anything, fix anything, and play any instrument. He was incredibly intelligent, and had a wicked sense of humour. He was an artist, a musician, mechanic, and woodworker.
John and Carol retired in Maple Ridge where John volunteered many years of his life serving the Lord, feeding and spreading gospel to the unhoused in the downtown east side, and acting as a board member for Friendship Baptist Housing. John was also Deacon and Elder at Friendship Baptist Church and an active member of the Seniors Ministry and Bible Study Leader at both the Friendship and Burnett Baptist churches.
John was a grandfather of 13, and great-grandfather of 15! He had a true passion for the Lord, for his wife, Carol, and for his family. He was loved by all who knew him, especially his family.
It has been a painful few years with John's illness and we will miss him terribly every day but are so grateful that he is no longer suffering and is in the loving arms of his Lord, Jesus Christ.
TILL WE MEET AGAIN
John, Dad, Grandpa, Great Grandpa,
Brother-in-law, Uncle and Friend ... we love you.
