A look down on the city of Vancouver

When you've seen one time lapse video, you've seen 'em all. Usually.

Until you've seen Ryan Emond's Discovering Vancouver, that is.

Emond tackles the city's typical shots and vantage points, with the ocean and the mountains and the lights at night playing prominent roles. But he also aims for movement, starting in North Vancouver and riding the SeaBus over to downtown, then taking the SkyTrain out and heading south.

from Emond's Vimeo page:

"Last summer I spent 6 weeks exploring the city of Vancouver. I went there with the intention of learning some new skills in a fresh place. I was completely captivated by the beauty of this city, and the constant adventures it provided me.

"Flowing from the ground to the top of the Lions Gate Bridge, I aim to show you an unseen view."

It's a jarring, exciting compilation of over 20,000 individual pictures – that's right, not video.
