The family of missing Maple Ridge woman Rebecca Harbowy is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to her safe return.
Her mother, Debbie Harbowy, was part of a group of approximately 20 people who met on Dec. 6 and searched the neighbourhood where Rebecca was last spotted in the early morning hours of Nov. 23. She said they found some information, in the form of videos, that they hope results in leads for police.
She said the reward is being offered as an incentive for people who may have information about Rebecca’s whereabouts.
“It’s a lot of money for us, but if it gets my daughter home…,” said Debbie.
She said a tipster can remain anonymous.
Rebecca Harbowy, 36, has been missing since Nov. 23, when she walked away from the Ridge Meadows Hospital at approximately 1:20 a.m. in the morning. Her family says she was confused at the time.
The family has received videos from residents showing the missing woman walking down River Road, eastbound. One shows her near the Port Haney West Coast Express station, at 1:46 a.m.
Another tipster said he saw a woman matching Rebecca’s description walking on the Haney Bypass at approximately 2 a.m. that day. He saw writing on her clothing that matched the description.
Debbie hopes to hear from people who saw her walking, or getting into a vehicle, at that time. She is asking for people who may have been driving in the area of Laity Street, River Road and the Haney Bypass in the early morning hours of Nov. 23 to please check their dash cam footage.
She said many people in the community are aware of her daughter’s disappearance, and she often hears words of support. One couple, who had experienced a similar ordeal with a loved one who was battling addiction, volunteered to help with the search on Wednesday.
Debbie said she wants to keep Rebecca’s story in front of people, until she is found safely.
