For the third year in a row, Haney Builders Supplies will be giving Maple Ridge a reason to party as the company prepares to host another Haney Block Party.
This annual event brings thousands of people to Haney Builders Supplies, where they can enjoy a wide range of live entertainment, food, and competitions.
This year's Haney Block Party may even break last year's attendance record of 6,000 people thanks to the fact that it is happening at the same time that the city is hosting the BC Summer Games, which will have thousands of visitors spread throughout Maple Ridge.
Haney Builders Supplies CEO and general manager Alex Yakovyshenko hopes to see as many people as possible wander down to the free party on July 20.
"Our goal with the Haney Block Party is to create a vibrant and inclusive gathering that celebrates our community spirit, encourages local businesses to participate, and provides a fun-filled family event for all," said Yakovyshenko.
There will be something for everyone, explained Yakovyshenko, with kids able to enjoy the inflatable obstacle courses and bounce castles, while adults get serenaded by the variety of live music or stop by the food truck and beer garden area for some tasty bites.
The whole family will also want to stop by the car show out front, which will include dozens of vintage and custom cars for people to admire.
From 1 to 6 p.m., there will also be a live building competition, which will be judged by Mayor Dan Ruimy and last year's winner Springridge Construction.
The Haney Block Party takes place on Saturday, July 20, from 1 to 11 p.m. and is free for people of all ages.
