Driver fined after losing control of vehicle in Pitt Meadows.

After spinning the tires, a driver lost control of their vehicle in Pitt Meadows, right in front of a marked police car.

A police officer was conducting traffic speed enforcement at Airport Way and Harris Road when the incident happened.

The driver lost control, veering into oncoming lanes, however there were no vehicles oncoming at the time.

"Fortunately, no one was harmed," said the Ridge Meadows RCMP online.

"The driver graciously accepted their punishment for their poor choice of driving behaviour," said RCMP, noting they will be without their car for seven days and will be facing multiple Motor Vehicle Act fines.

"Leave stunting for the track, not the street," said police, adding they are out watching for this type of "high-risk driving behaviour", which, they warned, can cause serious harm or distract other road users.
