With a ceremonial Christmas tree lighting, hay rides, pictures with Santa, and much more, Christmas in Pitt Meadows is coming on Friday, Dec. 6.
The annual event will be held at Spirit Square and the Pitt Meadows Family Recreation Centre, which will both be decorated and looking their seasonal best, from 4-8 p.m.
Outdoors there will be food trucks and other vendors, the fire truck, and a variety of entertainment. There will be the annual tree lighting ceremony, which sees the giant Christmas evergreen overlooking the square lit up while the crowd cheers.
Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available for photos inside the gymnasium in the centre, where those atttenidng will also find carollers, crafts, games, cookie decorating, the artisan market, stage entertainment, and much more.
Patrons should remember to bring cash for donation-based activities and non-perishable items for the food bank.
From 3-9 p.m. the connecting road in Spirit Square behind City Hall to the Recreation Centre, as well as the full main parking lot and gravel lot, will be closed to vehicle traffic. Event parking will be available at the north side of the Pitt Meadows Family Recreation Centre – underground and surface parking lots.
