The city of Pitt Meadows reports there has been a partial culvert collapse at the corner of Ford Road and Ford Road detour, which is impacting traffic in the eastbound direction.
City crews are currently on site assessing the extent of the damage, and what work needs to be done. They have installed traffic barricades and made the area safe for vehicles.
Drivers are warned to use caution when in the area, and follow single-lane alternating traffic signage.
According to city spokesperson Tia O'Grady, the aging wood culvert was scheduled to be replaced in 2025, but didn't last as long as expected.
She said the city is getting quotes for the work, and will let the public know about timelines and road closures are information becomes available.
