A police operation that targeted known drug traffickers has resulted in numerous busts, including in Maple Ridge, and drug charges against 11 people.
Coquitlam RCMP announced 64 trafficking and possession charges this week. That detachment's operation named Project E-Nevermind brought about search warrants at four locations in Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Maple Ridge during January, 2023. Coquitlam police were assisted by Ridge Meadows RCMP and the Lower Mainland Integrated Emergency Response Team, as officers seized large quantities of drugs, $145,000 in cash, two replica firearms, and two vehicles.
The drugs seized included 52 kg of methamphetamine, 30 kg of psilocybin edibles, three kg of cocaine, one kg of fentanyl, 1.2 kg of heroin, and quantities of MDMA, ketamine, dried psilocybin, and fentanyl-related W18.
Earlier this month, 64 charges of trafficking and possession were laid against 11 individuals from Burnaby, Coquitlam, New Westminster, Port Coquitlam, and Vancouver.
Charged are Richard McLaughlin, 28; Shayanne McGregor, 29; John Summer, 37; Jeremy Pride, 48; Barry Profaizer, 54; Christos Katsiamitas, 22; Nicky Sharma, 44; Hyun Cho, 22; Denise Sampson, 42; Liam Reilly, 26; and Joenna Saunders, 33.
"The charges laid as a result of Project E-Nevermind should be sending a strong message to those involved in the drug trade that their business is not welcome in our communities," said Coquitlam RCMP Supt. Darren Carr.
"Our officers will continue to work hard at disrupting and dismantling dangerous and illicit drug organizations to maintain public safety."
