A contractor from the Maritimes toured Pitt Meadows Plumbing and Mechanical Systems (PMP) in Maple Ridge recently, and left a $10,000 cheque for local charities to show appreciation.
Denis Landry, owner of Premiere Plumbing and Heating in Dieppe, New Brunswick, got a tour of their shop, and left the donation to local charities for the time and insight shared.
Landry and nine members of the Premiere team travelled across the country to visit PMP’s prefabrication facility in Maple Ridge. They spent the day learning about the company’s approach to industrialized construction, from how they use digital models to drive fabrication, to the smart tooling and production software that supports their delivery model.
PMP President Steve Robinson personally led the group through the shop, sharing lessons learned and answering questions about strategy, production, and continuous improvement.
He said it was a collaborative visit – one focused on growth, shared values, and pride in the work being done across Canada’s construction industry.
At the end of the tour, the Premiere team donated $5,000 each to the Friends in Need Food Bank, and the Working Gear Clothing Society, which provides industry-appropriate clothing and job support to individuals entering or re-entering the workforce.
