For the next month, from July 15 to Aug. 15, there will be low-flying helicopters over Maple Ridge.
Talon Helicopters is conducting survey work for BC Hydro, and will be flying much lower than the public is used to seeing aircraft – as low as 350 feet above the highest obstacles.
The flying is being done with authorization from Transport Canada, will be during daylight hours only, and the company says flight time over a given area will be minimal.
Talon's distinctive Yellow helicopters can be found flying in the area regularly, assisting search and rescue teams and conducting aerial rescues in Golden Ears Provincial Park, and working with the film industry. The flight schedule may vary depending on weather conditions and wildfires.
Questions about the project can be directed to Talon Helicopters at 604-214-3585, or by email at 604-214-3585.
