A Maple Ridge church is partnering with certified dementia practitioner Karen Tyrell to try and help people better understand how to care for their loved ones who suffer from dementia.
Tyrell is well versed in this subject matter, with more than 25 years of providing support and resources to people in dementia care, including co-creating the Adult Cognitive Wellness Centre in Langley. She is also the author of the book Cracking the Dementia Code, which offers creative solutions for dementia caregivers.

On Sept. 28, Tyrell will provide a free presentation at Golden Ears United Church that will go over some important tips that family members can use if they have someone close to them who is impacted by dementia.
“Karen Tyrell is an excellent speaker,” said Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows Katzie Seniors Network executive director Heather Treleaven. “If you are providing care for someone living with dementia, you’ll want to attend this presentation.”
