A lot of Metro Vancouver youth won’t have to worry about where their next breakfast is coming from now thanks to a recent donation from the Maple Ridge Community Foundation (MRCF).

Members of the MRCF got together to present the Greater Vancouver Youth Unlimited Breakfast Program with a cheque for $5,000.

According to MRCF marketing and design assistant Amy Pridday, this donation is one of many similar donations the group makes to various local charities, with the total donation amount for MRCF in the past 25 years now surpassing $1 million.

“The Maple Ridge Community Foundation seeks to fund programs and projects that provide a direct service and have a lasting impact on our community, involve collaboration and partnerships, as well as present an innovative or creative approach to address a community concern,” said Pridday.

With the help of this recent donation, the Greater Vancouver Youth Unlimited Breakfast Program will be able to continue its mission of providing students with meal programs in a family-style setting to encourage proper nutrition and social support.

The meal programs operate in Maple Ridge, Mission, Langley, Chilliwack, Abbotsford, Richmond, Surrey, and Vancouver.
