Maple Ridge Legion hosts open house event on Sunday

Tours and refreshments will be available from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

In hopes of recruiting even more members, the Maple Ridge Legion, Branch 88, will be hosting its open house event on Sept. 17.

According to the local branch, it is already the largest legion in the country, but would love to bring on new members who are passionate about giving back to their community and supporting veterans.

As part of the open house event, there will be tours given of the legion building and a variety of refreshments will be provided by Vanilla Bean Bake Shop.

Legion members do not have to have military experience, as anyone can join, with memberships costing $60 per year.

This family-friendly event will run from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 17, at the Maple Ridge Legion, Branch 88 (12101 224th St.).
