The City of Maple Ridge has won international awards for videos promoting tourism and city events.
The city's marketing video content strategy won five prestigious awards at the 29th annual Viddy Awards.
The award-winning videos, produced as part of Maple Ridge’s 150th anniversary celebrations and hosting of the BC Summer Games, showcase natural beauty and community spirit. Collectively, the videos have generated over one million impressions and thousands of clicks to the city’s digital tourism hub, MapleRidge.ca/Explore. The city has received the following awards:
• Platinum Award - Explore Maple Ridge Tourism Video
• Gold Award - Go Wild, Play Here Tourism Video
• Gold Award - BC Games Event Showcase Video
• Gold Award - This is OUR Neck of the Woods Video
• Honourable Mention - I Love Maple Ridge Video
The Viddy Awards, one of the largest creative video competitions globally, recognize outstanding video production across various categories.
“This has been an incredible year for Maple Ridge, and we’re proud to share our story so that others can experience the beauty and charm of the city we are so privileged to call home,” said Mayor Dan Ruimy. “We had thousands visit our city this year and we are thrilled to see our marketing efforts recognized internationally. These awards are a testament to the inspiration and dedication within our community, Council, staff and partners to bring forth a bright and bold vision for our future.”
In 2024 the city also earned accolades at the 2024 MarCom Awards. The city won for its Explore Maple Ridge Guide, city gateway signs redesign, and for its public art booklet.
