Dozens of vintage cars participated in the STORM Show and Shine event at Ridge Church last year.

A vintage car show will be taking place in support of men's mental health.

The third annual ST.O.R.M. Show and Shine will be held in the parking lot of The Haney Public House on Father's Day, Sunday, June 15.

Classic car enthusiasts are welcome to show off their vehicles at the event. Pre-registration is available.

There will be prizes, trophies for the best cars, food, and music.

A 50/50 draw will also be taking place.

All proceeds raised from the event will be donated to the Family Education and Support Centre.

Last year the show raised more than $900 which went towards running the centre's Caring Dad's and Men's Anger Management Programs.

This year, ST.O.R.M is working to develop a course for the centre which will be focused on parenting through adversity, specifically parenting through addiction, incarceration, and parental loss.

"The course is being developed by myself, project coordinator, and a peer with lived and living experience with these exact situations," explained Stop Overdose Ridge Meadows organizer Jerrica Hackett, who also works at Family Education facilitating programs.

Her previous career was in corrections.

"So this is truly a passion project for me," she said, noting that the course will need to go through an approval process, but they are really hoping it will be well-received and make a positive impact in this community.

"Parents aren't perfect, many of us have our own struggles or end up co-parenting with people who are struggling themselves- but it's about adding tools to our toolbox so that we can show up for our children as best as we can," added Hackett.

The ST.O.R.M Show and Shine will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the corner of 222 Street and Lougheed Highway.
