The new Our Neck of the Woods IPA is a collaboration by three Maple Ridge brewers.

Maple Ridge has its celebratory brew for the upcoming 150th anniversary celebration.

The city will raise a glass to the occasion with a specially brewed Hazy IPA collaboration beer at the Our Neck of the Woods festival on Saturday, Sept. 14.

Local brewers Foamers Folly, Switchback, and The Patch have created the Our Neck of the Woods IPA, which will be unveiled at the 224th Street beer garden. The new brew will add a local flavour to a downtown festival running from noon to 10 p.m., featuring live entertainment on three stages, food trucks, vendors, free family activities and adventure for all.

“This brew celebrates the unity and pride of our community, making it the perfect pour for this momentous occasion,” said Maple Ridge Mayor Dan Ruimy. “The Our Neck of the Woods celebration is a great opportunity to showcase Maple Ridge’s vibrant hospitality industry. Our craft brewers, farmers market, restaurants, pubs, coffee shops and bakeries are second to none in the region and look forward to serving the many guests joining us on Sept. 14 for this amazing birthday celebration.”

The 224th Street beer garden will feature all three craft breweries that worked together to create a special brew to mark Maple Ridge’s 150th anniversary. The collaboration was led by Foamers Folly.

"Crafting this ultimate celebration beer together has been more than just brewing a delicious beverage... It's a toast to our community and a testament to the strength, diversity and vibrancy of our local craft scene," said Lyndsay Birch, head brewer at Foamers Folly.

Our Neck of the Woods will transform downtown Maple Ridge into a walkable festival zone with headliners Aaron Pritchett and The Strumbellas, free family activities including a zipline, vendors and displays, arts and culture, beverage gardens and the Greater Vancouver Food Truck Festival. Kick off the day at the Haney Farmers Market, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Memorial Peace Park.
