Pedestrian sent to hospital after evening crash

Incident occurred in Silvery Valley on Wednesday night

A pedestrian is in serious but stable condition after being struck by a vehicle in Maple Ridge on Wednesday evening.

According to BC Emergency Health Services, the incident occurred just before 6 p.m. on Oct. 30 in the Silver Valley neighbourhood, at 136 Avenue and 232 Street.

BCEHS responded to the scene with an ambulance, an advanced care paramedic response unit, and a supervisor.

"Paramedics provided emergency medical treatment to one patient who was transported to hospital in serious but stable condition," said BCEHS.

Ridge Meadows RCMP said that police and firefighters also responded to the scene.

"Departments were all on scene and roads in the area were closed for multiple hours after the incident," said Ridge Meadows RCMP. "This is an active and ongoing investigation and no further information is available."
