What is the most important issue facing voters in this election, and what should be done about it?

The rising cost of living is the most important issue facing people in our communities. Families are working hard but still struggling to keep up with the basics like groceries, rent, and bills.

We need practical solutions that help people feel more secure. That’s why Mark Carney’s middle-class tax cut is so important. It would lower taxes on the first income bracket, putting up to $825 back into the pockets of two-income households. That kind of relief can make a real difference.

We also need to modernize Employment Insurance so it’s there when people need it. Too many who pay into the system aren’t able to access it when they’re between jobs or going through a tough time.

And we must address housing. Carney’s plan to double the pace of home building to 500,000 homes a year would help bring costs down and make it easier for families to find a place they can afford.

Lower taxes, a fairer EI system, and more affordable housing – these are real, concrete steps we can take to support families, strengthen our community, and build a more secure future for everyone.
