Pitt Meadows named leader in safety

City receives Organizational Safety Excellence Award from BC Municipal Safety Association

The City of Pitt Meadows received the Organizational Safety Excellence Award at the 2024 BCMSA/PWABC Joint Annual Conference.

The BC Municipal Safety Association (BCMSA) has spoken and it determined that the City of Pitt Meadows is one of the safest municipal governments to work for in the entire province.

At the recent Joint Annual Conference with the Public Works Association of BC, the BCMSA gave representatives from the City of Pitt Meadows the Organizational Safety Excellence Award.

Charity Igiri, the city's occupational health and safety advisor, travelled to the conference in Penticton and accepted the award on the city's behalf.

"Thank you to the BCMSA for honouring local government commitments to reducing workplace injuries and supporting injured workers in their recovery," wrote the City of Pitt Meadows.

The Organizational Safety Excellence Award was one of several awards handed out for various safety categories.
