Police arrest two people after assault in Maple Ridge

Ridge Meadows RCMP are investigating an assault.

Ridge Meadows RCMP arrested a man and a woman after an assault in Maple Ridge on Wednesday morning, and are looking for witnesses.

On Dec. 11, at approximately 11:15 a.m., Ridge Meadows frontline officers received several reports of an assault that had taken place in the 22400 block of 121 Street.

Responding officers located the victim, who had visible wounds. The victim was later transported to hospital for his injuries, which were not believed to be life-threatening. The victim has since been released from the hospital.

Front-line members and officers with the detachment's Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) were in the area, and arrested the alleged suspects, who are known to police. They remain in custody.
